Day One - How the Hate Begins

As evidenced by the title of this blog, I will be finding 106 ways to destroy a book. The book in particular I'm talking about is Neil Postman's Building a Bridge to the 18th Century. If you get the chance, you should look into it (but don't buy it, of course). It is a complete and utter piece of shit. The only redeeming quality it might have is that the cover of the book could be used to teach design students about ways to not make a shitty cover to a shitty book.

shit shit shit shit shit.

Now, fair and unbiased reader, you might be asking at this point "Well, why is the book so wretched and terrible, and so lacking in any redeeming quality, Nick?" How convenient you asked me. I could list all of the reasons here, going on page after page as to why it infuriates me so much, but that is tedious and boring (although not quite as tedious as reading the book yourself). Instead, I hope that, in between the snippets of my sadistic glee in desecrating this book and my rants about how the author's idiocy is indicative of generational bias and the dangers of skewed perspectives, you will find not only some useful, interesting ideas, but also how fucking retarded Neil Postman is.

Fuck you, Postman. Fuck you.
